October 1st is officially “World Bluegrass Day”
The day is a celebration of bluegrass music through community involvement, awareness, and exposure.

The Mission:
1) To celebrate, share and inspire others throughout the year to start listening to Bluegrass music, start playing an instrument or travel to the mountains to explore the roots of Bluegrass.
2) Preserve the historical roots of Bluegrass for future generations to see, hear and understand where Bluegrass started.

Bruce Molsky is one of the Greats on Old Time fiddle, a truly amazing guitarist and Bruce’s vocal is stellar when it comes to Traditional old timey music !!
Tony is known as the Father of New Grass Banjo , Tony is truly one of the best and we are so pleased that Bruce and Tony have agreed to bring their music and vibes to the Westchester Bluegrass Club!! What a treat!

Good three-part vocal harmony can be the most exciting part of bluegrass and folk music. Learn the basic terminology of folk style harmony singing (Lead, Tenor, Baritone), how to find your first note, how to “stay in your lane” and not sing what the person next to you is singing, and how to blend.

Bluegrass Jam Class with Austin Scelzo (Mondays Oct-Dec)
Mondays, October 28 – December 16 at 6:30 PM
All bluegrass instruments are welcome. No jamming experience is necessary. You will be jamming in the first class!

- Friendly, encouraging, knowledgeable teaching
- Hands-on learning in large and small groups
- Gentle tempos! Mistakes expected!
- Music/tab reading is not needed or used
- Singing is not required, but encouraged and taught
- Soloing is not required! “Faking” solos taught.
Do you qualify? It’s easier than you may think!
If you play guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, or dobro, you can be part of a bluegrass jam. The only requirements: be able to tune your instrument and change smoothly between G, C, D, and A (or the notes that work on bass and fiddle.)
Tuition is $285 for 8 sessions. You will be sent the student materials as soon as you register, including the Class Preparation Guide, Bluegrass Jam Favorites Playlist Guide, Recommended Resources, JAM Songbook, and more.

Bluegrass Jam at Park(ing) Day Danbury Sept 20 10 AM – 2 PM
“International PARK(ing) Day” which is a day for folks to transform parking spaces into community-activated places.
The Danbury Cultural Commission, with the Parking Authority and the Parks and Recreation Department turn parking spaces into parks for a few hours mid day to promote open space and the plethora of events and activities happening all year throughout Danbury, Connecticut.
Take time to stop, relax and chat, with cookies and coffee while they last.
