The Morris Bluegrass Festival is Back in 2025
Music lovers and festival-goers, mark your calendars! The renowned Morris Bluegrass Festival is returning to South Farms in Morris, CT on July 4th, 2025 with an incredible lineup of award-winning bluegrass artists.
This year’s festival will feature performances by 2-Time Grammy-Nominated The Special Consensus, IBMA Showcase band Rock Hearts, the up-and-coming The New-Grown Ups from Boston, local favorites The Zolla Boys, Sperry Creek, Guy Wolff and the host band Wires & Wood. This star-studded lineup promises an unforgettable day of toe-tapping, high-energy bluegrass music that will have the entire family dancing in the fields.

The Podunk Bluegrass Festival is an annual four-day event held in Hebron, CT, typically the second weekend of August. It’s known for showcasing local, regional, and national bluegrass musicians across multiple stages, as well as offering a variety of family-friendly activities like band and songwriting competitions, a kids’ bluegrass academy, workshops, and designated picking and quiet camping areas

IBMA Mentor of the Year, Kimber Ludiker hosts this fun and friendly week of bluegrass instruction and jamming for fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, harmony singing, songwriting, and new this year… dobro! Learn from inspirational teachers hand-picked to cultivate a magical learning experience. There’ll be classes, concerts, mini-lessons, band scrambles, open mics and more. All levels and backgrounds are welcome!

FOR INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED PLAYERS: Get personalized feedback, improve your instrumental skills, and jam with players of a similar ability.
FOR BEGINNERS: The schedule will include one instrument class per day at a beginner level, plus plenty of time to practice what you learned and opportunities to jam at extra slow tempos with other beginners.

Pete Wernick’s Silver Bay Bluegrass Camp
Daily lessons with experienced bluegrass teachers and musicians will help you learn how to jam quickly and get right to the fun of playing music together. Classes on harmony singing, bluegrass lead singing, songwriting, soloing, music theory, and beginner, intermediate, and advanced tutorials on each bluegrass instrument culminate in fun activities like bluegrass Karaoke night, Open Mic, a bluegrass gospel Vespers, and a faculty concert.

Directed by Pete Wernick (Dr. Banjo) of Hot Rize and Austin Scelzo (Rock Hearts, On the Trail) and held at Silver Bay, NY at the Silver Bay YMCA Conference Center.
Silver Bay is a large Y Camp and Conference Center, on Lake George in the Adirondacks.

The Camp is held at an idyllic location with lakeside views, kayaks, boat rides, and a beach within just a few minutes walk. Accommodations range from cozy cabins to a 19th century restored inn. In addition to bluegrass camp each year, there is also a three day festival called “Mountain Music Festival” (Formerly “Bluegrass in Heaven”) that occurs there.

Small Batch Cellars in North Haven is hosting a monthly Bluegrass Jam Night on the first Thursday of each month, starting May 15th. The jam will run from 6 PM to 9 PM. Whether you play an instrument or just enjoy listening to bluegrass, you’re welcome to attend.
