Every Saturday from 9am-1pm, Todd Michael will be broadcasting from the University of Hartford at 91.3FM and streaming online at https://www.wwuh.org/0043-listen-online. This Saturday, December 9th, special in-studio guests will include two 14-year-old mandolin players from Connecticut who spent a week in Raleigh, NC during the IBMA World of Bluegrass back in September. DJ Todd will be interviewing Cody Voegeli and Redmond Day during the program and you can expect some live music, too!

The Hosmer Mountain Boys will be hosting Earl’s 100th birthday bash at a venue to be determined! The band will be in full form as Monroe-Style expert, Silas Powell from West Virginia who will be in the state for the week joining the band for the birthday bash and also at Lily P’s in Cambridge, MA on January 2, 2024, and perhaps some jams in between!

Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association Presents: Mando Madness

After a four-year hiatus, Mando Madness is back at the HVBA! Veteran Hudson Valley-based picker and Too Blue mandolinist Mike Sassano again assembles a crack team of eight-string aficionados for a night of mandolin mania. The Bluegrass Standard was founded in 2016 by Keith Barnacastle, a Meridian, MS native. Growing up with bluegrass, gospel and roots music, he wanted to craft a magazine where readers would feel like they were standing with the band as they performed or sitting beside the Standard’s interviewers while they recorded the stories of artists, musicians, and bluegrass industry makers and shakers. He is dedicated to preserving the history and stories of bluegrass music and artists while supporting the new generation of bluegrassers.

Hamden – Starting January 18, the Guitartown jam will be the third Thursday of every month, from 6-9 at The Cellar on Treadwell Street.

Katonah: The next jam is December 17 – Check the website for future jams – This jam now includes three distinct jamming groups- bluegrass, Old Time, and Swing!
