Westchester Bluegrass Club to Feature On the Trail and Simon Brogie of Hosmer Mountain Boys
Saturday, March 16 there will be a bluegrass jam, potluck, and concert by On the Trail.
Most recently, On the Trail had the honor of winning the 2022 Thomas Point Beach Band Competition after participating in 2021’s Telefunken Battle of the Bands at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival. They also were selected as an Emerging Artist at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival 2023. On The Trail features Austin Scelzo (fiddle and vocals), Tom Polizzi (mandolin and vocals), Charlie Widmer (guitar and vocals) and Matt Curley (upright bass and vocals).
New Arts and Community Center in Georgetown CT offers bluegrass jams and a concert series
The Granite Church is a nonprofit community gathering space that celebrates cultural expression and the arts. We seek to strengthen our sense of community and support artistic and civic leadership. We have a unique opportunity in Georgetown to honor our past and ignite our future through investment in historic rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and placemaking.
The center will launch its relationship with the Connecticut Bluegrass Association by offering two public bluegrass jams on April 10 and May 15, as well as a bluegrass concert featuring New England’s own Rock Hearts on June 1.

KIDS ON BLUEGRASS APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!   The Kids on Bluegrass program spotlights the talents of young bluegrass musicians and singers (4-17 years old) at IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC. More than a workshop or “academy” experience, the program’s goals are to provide guidance, and to foster a fun atmosphere for producing, performing, promoting, and even emceeing a professional bluegrass music show. Kids on Bluegrass will play two separate sets at the IBMA Bluegrass Live! on September 27 and 28.
